KT Tunstall reveals tiny tour

09/06/2010

Pub crawl dates are free, as new band and album are unveiled

KT Tunstall is to play a host of tiny pubs around Scotland for a free tour starting this Friday, as she unveils her new album and band.

Dubbed the ‘Rub-a-Dub-Dub Tour’, her solo dates will take in seven bijou hostelries from Argyll to Aberdeen.

The star has just revealed on her website that her next album will be called Tiger Suit, and was inspired by “a recurring dream amongst other things,” and has also confirmed that her new band features former Ash axewoman Charlotte Hatherley on lead guitar, Rej ap Gwynedd (David Holmes, Apollo 440 and The Might Boosh’s band) on bass, Kenny Dickenson on synth and her long-term collaborator – and now husband – Luke Bullen on drums.

She said: “Two women, two axes; rockin’ rhythm section; synth-mania… It’ll be enough to make your trousers flap."

KT’s tour starts on Friday at Dundee’s Drouthy’s before calling at Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s on Saturday, Aberdeen’s Café Drummond on Monday, Twa Tams in Perth on Tuesday, and The Inn at Lathones, St Andrews, on Wednesday. The dates wrap up at MacSorley’s bar in Glasgow on June 18, and Inver Cottage coffee shop and restaurant on the banks of Loch Fyne on June 19.

Except for St Andrews, all shows are free on a first-come, first-served basis.
