Resolutions
Resolutions Fostering Service is a partnership of four local authorities: Bridgend, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Vale of Glamorgan. The service specialises in offering planned placements for young people aged 10-17 years, who present challenging behaviour and those involved in the criminal justice system.
The manager of Resolutions, Mandy Jenkins, explains to Laura Smith why they support The Big Issue.
Can you explain more about what your organisation does?
In 1993, Mid Glamorgan County Council set up the Remand Fostering Scheme which offered accommodation to young people as an alternative to a remand into custody. Following reorganisation in 1996 and until 2001, the scheme underwent significant changes and was re-named Resolutions. The team is made up of three social work staff who operate across the four partner authorities.Resolutions is an innovative service which provides a high quality dedicated service to young people. The four authorities combine resources to create a first class specialised fostering service. Resolutions is committed to working in partnership to provide stable and caring environments for young people.
What are your goals?

• To increase the variety and number of foster carers so we can offer more placements and match young people with carers to suit their wide ranging needs
